this is the first rashguard design in a series of several of my unique designs. design created by me in Lviv, and the guys are in Kharkiv. сreated during the winter of 2022-2023, one of the most difficult periods of the war between Ukraine and russia
the idea behind this design is quite simple, it's an angry honey badger holding the head of a downed bear. I think many people know that the honey badger is not big, but a very dangerous and aggressive animal that fights to the end for itself and its territory
the honey badger personifies Ukraine, which opposes the insolent bear from the east, who coveted a free, European and democratic Ukraine, but the honey badger holds on, like the Ukrainian people, despite the bombing of civilian infrastructure, killings, and torturing children and women in the territories occupied by russia
the design was created together with the owners of the company and me during the tragic events of the winter of 22-23. then power cuts began in Ukraine, due to the fact that Russia deliberately bombed the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, so that the population of the country plunged into the cold
so that businesses would close, so that we would surrender and our people demanded that our government surrender. As you all know, Russia's plans failed, we endured last winter and will endure the next one
russia ruthlessly bombed Kharkiv, but the guys from Pancer remain in Kharkiv to this day and continue to live in the most affected area of Kharkiv - Saltivka. The guys not only work, go in for sports, but also constantly volunteer for civilians and our military without losing heart
I also didn’t have a very good time in Lviv, my electricity was constantly cut off and the city was periodically bombed, this, of course, cannot be compared with the horrors that the east of Ukraine is experiencing, but there is also little pleasant
thanks to my colleagues from Germany from the Butter Agency company, who gave me a gift in the form of a portable power station, which saved me these days and I was able to complete the project
I always start my work with sketches. as you can see, I love pencil and paper used it as a tool for this. the idea was to make not only a honey badger, but also lay symbols. wounds and skulls are sleeves
the wounds symbolize that the honey badger has serious wounds, and the skulls are the skulls of the bear, which are getting smaller and eventually disappear, like the bear, and the honey badger will remain, albeit with severe injuries
on live photos, you can see the result of the work, how everything looks live. I tried not only to make an illustration, but also to convey certain meanings and at the same time make an aggressive message, because this is not just a fashion design, but primarily for MMA fighters
I also designed the logo and font for the company. the meaning of the logo was to make the jaw of a honey badger. in the animal kingdom, aggression is often shown through external trappings and emotions, such as grinning
